The Ancient Order of Mosstroopers is based in Hawick, in the bonnie Scottish borderland.The club upholds the history and memory of the Mosstrooping Men of Old whilst supporting and encouraging the Cornet of the year and promoting the spirit of the Common Riding.
The club organises two famous rides to Mosspaul, led by the Hawick Cornet and widely recognised as being amongst the most challenging and inspiring in the world. The route takes in some of the most beautiful scenery to behold in a land of tradition where for centuries local people have ridden to preserve and protect their wee bit hill and glen.
Other events organised by the club during the year include the annual Dinner, Ball, Burns Supper, Race Meeting, and Gymkhana.
The club Motto Aye Defend, is indicative of the passion with which Borderers cherish their home land.
